Newsletter – 2012 AGM + Footpath Meeting Apr 12

Mr Ben Staite, Transport Planner, Highways and Transport Department of Swindon Borough Council will present the plans for the proposed footpath from Alexandra Park to Brimble Hill at a meeting on Tuesday 22^nd May 2012 at the Hayley Hotel and Conference Centre.   The Presentation will start at  8pm sharp so please arrive in good time and have your say.   As the proposed footpath will also benefit the residents of Beranburgh Fields they are also invited to attend.   The APRA Annual General Meeting will follow on from this presentation.

The APRA AGM will take place on Tuesday 22^nd May 2012 following the Presentation by Swindon Borough Council on the proposed plan for the footpath from Alexandra Park to Brimble Hill.  The meeting will commence at 8pm sharp so please arrive in good time.  Items for inclusion in the Agenda should be forwarded to the APRA Chair (chair@alexandrapark.org.uk) by no later than the 14^th May 2012.

As part of the London Olympic 2012 celebrations the Olympic Flame will be paraded around the United Kingdom between 19 May and 27 July . On the 23 May at 11.57 hours the flame will be carried from a start point on New Road, opposite Mays Lane in Chiselden along and turning right at the Patriot Arms roundabout and then along the B4005, Hodson Road to a finish point just past the corner.  It will be carried by Carney Bonner and Becci Berry.  It will then move by car to a new start point at the bottom of Brimble Hill at 12.07 hours.  From there it will be carried by Ben Jones and George Stockton along the High Street and then down Wharf Road before finishing and moving off to Wotton Bassett by Car    For full details please see the Official London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games website at: www.london2012.com/ or for details of the exact route see the following link: www.london2012.com/get-involved/local-leaders/line-the-streets/
